TIPS FOR A SMOOTH HIRING PROCESS

Hiring new talent is an inevitable part of every business, and there’s more to it than simply reviewing resumes and conducting interviews. There are several common recruitment mistakes, like a badly written job description or miscommunication regarding applications. But with the right hiring and onboarding process, you will soon be able to recruit and hire the desired candidates.

Here are some innovative tips and tricks to enhance your recruitment process for satisfactory results:

  1. Simplify Job Descriptions:

Very often recruiters try to create the best possible job ads, with endless descriptions and bulky details. This does not retain the reader’s attention and the important details are missed out. Keep the description minimal and mention only the necessary qualifications the candidates need, and the way your company will meet their needs.

   2. Test the Best Candidates

Although it will be an additional expense in the hiring process to compensate the candidates, it will be productive to test the skills and knowledge they claim to have.

  3. Social Media Background Check

Apart from conducting a traditional background check, conduct checks on their social media profiles, too. These platforms allow you to find out more about the person, their personalities, and their former employees.

   4. Conduct a Survey

After finishing the interview, ask the candidates to fill in a brief survey. What were their thoughts about the interview, job ad, and hiring process as a whole? What would they change? This feedback will really help you improve your approach.

    5. Ask Why They Left Their Previous Job

If they are blaming someone else, try to find out more. Was it really an unhealthy working environment or does the candidate has an unhealthy ego?

    6. Focus on the Personality Factor

Pay attention to your company culture and the candidate’s skillset before hiring. If the office has in-person activities and challenges for the team, an introvert is going to struggle. Similarly, an extroverted personality who is expected to sit at their remote office desk, only communicating through work mails, may not last.

   7. Showcase Flexible Options

HR experts report that by not offering remote or flexible work arrangements, you are missing out on potential candidates is as high as 70%. With a remote or hybrid model, applicant base is broadened across traditional schedules and geographical radius.

   8. Reputation Management

Nowadays, candidates want to work for digitally enabled companies. You must show them you foster a culture that allows technological advancement. Having a bad online image, or having no online presence at all, is detrimental to your company and deters people from joining and contributing to the firm. Many businesses are using online reputation management services to boost their online credibility, increase profits and attract talent.

Using these techniques may consume more resources and finances, but the time you spend improving your processes will prove to be a worthwhile investment.

How many jobs on average a person does in a lifetime?

How many jobs on average a person does in a lifetime?

When it comes to jobs, there are always uncertainties. Fear of losing jobs is always there if you don’t have a government job, and that is why some questions like, “how many jobs can I do in my career?” are always there.

It’s not just the uncertainty of losing your job, but we are sure you don’t want to do the same job for your lifetime, and if you want to try something new, we are here to show you that it might be easier than you think.

But first, let’s talk about some of the main reasons how people are able to switch their jobs these days:

  1.  Online Learning – One of the main factors people are able to learn anything they are interested in is because they can learn about their fascinating fields from anywhere they want. With the help of online education and online courses, people do not take much time to learn their interesting subjects, and from the comfort of their home, they are able to focus better and learn quickly.
  1. Ease of applying – Just like the ease of learning from the comfort of home, we can apply for any job sitting at home, thanks to the online jobseekers’ portals. Websites like LinkedIn, indeed, etc., have allowed people to experiment with new opportunities, and people are not shy to make a couple of simple clicks and apply for jobs.
  1. Work from Home Opportunities – Moving several hundred kilometers away from home for a job is not the only way you can do a job these days. Technology has allowed us to do our work even from home, and this has become possible because of the communication that we are able to make with our team.

So, there is one thing which is common in the above three points, people are doing all these things from the comfort of their home. Even if anybody has to move away from home for work, it all begins from home and applying for a job from there.

No one wants to do a single job for their forty years career. People are getting bored from doing a single job, and the online world has allowed them to switch their careers with little effort.

Now, coming to the original question of how many jobs a person can expect to do in a career, there is no single answer for that.

But there is one thing that you need to keep in mind that changing careers and working field has become very easy compared to past because of the above-mentioned reasons.

These days, people can keep switching jobs until they find what they really love doing and what is perfect for them.

For example, the Bureau of Labor Statistics published a study from 2015 which looked at the number of average jobs a person held between the ages of 18 to 50, and it turned out to be 12.

That means, a person on average is having 12 jobs in a career of 32 years, and the number of jobs increases with the span of a career.

People can find better pay, better location, and better working environment on a different company, and it is not uncommon, but at last, it is all about finding what you truly love doing. You can find the job you love very early in your career or late, and that is why there is no right answer for the number of jobs you can expect to do in your career.

There is nothing wrong with switching jobs and careers because it takes time and patience, and it is worth it in the end.

With Patterns, now you don’t have to wait to get your dream job. You can count on us, and we are sure that you will not get disappointed.

We have a wide variety of jobs that are available from the field of Healthcare to Project-based, which you will love doing more than your previous ones.
